Four decades with music in Kuwait I arrived to Kuwait with my wife, Anna, also pianist, 2 sons and luggage full of music books on October 1 st , 1985, for one or two academic years at the invitation of the Ministry of Information to teach young Kuwaitis.

At that time country seemed for us to be a musical desert, although soon private home concerts and lessons showed us that inhabitans of Kuwait needed music, both traditional folk and classical, and some of them had considerable musical talents.

For the next three decades, we searched for and educated many gifted, divers young people that it became our passion, and thanks its children Kuwait became our second homeland.

Just after Liberation we organized first ever open concert of young talents in the still ruined Sheraton and, together with British Council, we applied to the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music to establish its Int'l music exams for Kuwaiti inhabitants youth (which exams for the first two years took place in our house).

Also our Educational Project 'Treasure of Talents', began from regular home & school concerts up to annual 'Treasure of Talents Festivals' and Chopin Competitions started since 1999. Growing interest in classical music inspired me with my friend Witold Wnuk, to organize the Kuwait Chamber Philharmonia, regular open concerts season with so many outstanding soloists from the world, few renowned orchestras and ensembles as well as musicians from Kuwait (like highly talented composer, Sulaiman Al Dekan, earlier my piano student at the Higher Institute of Music).

Life is a very social game. Those various activitiws were possible thanks to the support of great friends, fellow musicians, Distinguish Patrons and Authorities, many Embassies (incl. The Polish Embassy and Polish Authorities) as well as our students and their families and sort of necessary social approval.

So many efforts and dreams were crowned by establishment, together with one of my most talented previous students, Mrs. Fajer Al Mazidi, the first ever professional music school – Kuwait Music Academy, grouping great colleagues, European musicians, headed by the recognized pianist, Mr. Karol Masternak.

Our students have opportunity to study all musical subjects in our locations in Salwa, Mahboula and Sabah Al Salem, participate in Int'l music exams, regular KMA open concerts, Festivals 'Treasure of Talents' (its 23 rd Edition in June, 2025), and Int'l Music Competitions in Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE and Europe (live and online).

At our KMA, students of different ages, levels, instruments, their families and our staff feel at home, at our common Home of Music. Maybe the best proof of this is that we have students from even third generation from the same family.
