Chamber Concert of Spring
Concert is the name of both a public performance and a musical form. 'Concerto' from Latin means I argue, I fight, I compete. It is an adequate name. In the Middle Ages, musical performances took place in temples and courts. Those concerts at courts were like musical tournaments, hence the name 'concert'. Competing musicians were often called troubadours.
Since the Renaissance and Baroque periods, with a growing middle class, music moved to theater halls, and the concert audience steadily democratized and grew until nowadays, even filling stadiums!
The turning point seems to be the emergence of chamber music. Musique de la Chambre appeared at the French court of Francis I of Valois to make the King's free time more enjoyable and enhance celebrations. Chamber music became the name of performances of two to nine singers and instrumentalists.
I remind it because of local reasons. Tomorrow, on Friday, April 25 at 6:00 pm you are warmly welcomed to the Spring Chamber Concert performed by our Team of Stars, excellent Soloists lecturing in KMA.

Rich and varied program is composed of vocal arias and songs by Mozart, Verdi, Schubert, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky & Moniuszko by singers well-known already in Kuwait, Kinga Masternak & Kamil Derylo. And several instrumental hits by Mozart, Boccherini, Rodrigo, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, and Prokofiev presented by virtuosos Dmitrii Krasnikov (viola), Aleksander Kovalev (guitar), and Viktor Shramko (clarinet). A very important role will be played by Inna Agabilova, who accompanies all the colleagues on the piano. These composers & artists form a really attractive Bouquets de Fleurs.
The name of tomorrow's extraordinary event is 'Spring Chamber Concert'. We remembered the roots of the names as 'concert' and 'chamber'. I guess we shouldn't add the explanation of the word 'Spring' to it?
Although... I have some thoughts about it. Spring for me is something new, a joyful beginning (and returning, of course) and hope. That's adequate: new open public performances of professional artists started in February with the Viola Bouquet Concert.
It is the beginning of the Chamber Philharmonic Season.
Pessimists claim that traditional climate seasons are disappearing, melting, merging.
Maybe. But nothing replaces the Spring, also musical, that of Antonio Vivaldi from Four Seasons, therefore...
Enough words.
Let us play: Max Richter - Spring 2 (2012) | Recomposed: Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
As spring is a season of fresh beginnings, let's listen to a fresh interpretation of Vivaldi's eternal concertos, The Four Seasons.
