The end of Summer Time has come. End of summer adventures. We get back to work, to school, to regular routines. But it doesn't have to be the end of all adventures.
Kuwait Music Academy has opened its doors and hearts to those who want to experience an adventure with music. I write: HEARTS because I know my younger colleagues, KMA pedagogues. We share a love of music, and therefore those who want to meet with music - and love it, too.
Music for Everybody
KMA was established as the first open, professional music school in Kuwait. Open for those who dream of becoming the successors of Mozart or Chopin, to be professional musicians, obtain certificates of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London, UK, but also for those who simply like to play for fun. Open for small children, teenagers, and adults. Sing opera arias, jazz, or popular songs, play the piano, keyboard, guitar classic or electric, violin, viola, flute, clarinet, saxophone, and so on. Even percussion, as 7-year-old girl Pola, barely visible from outside the drums section, lovely performing at the last Gala Festival.
Music – Supplement of Progress
Music is not only enjoyable, but also extremely beneficial for studying both young and old. It boosts memory and recall, improves focus and attention span, stimulates creativity, enhances coordination, strengthens problem-solving skills, increases IQ, reduces stress, performs in public, gains self-confidence, acts together. As scientists found, it even helps people suffering from Alzheimer's. It involves millions of our brain cells and communication between them in different parts of the brain.
What can I say: music is our soundtrack throughout our lives from the beginning to the end. It's good to make friends with her and even love her. (I believe music is a female!?) And if you know her, the love will be mutual.
Orchestra – Great Fun of Playing Together
Something else very important: music is extremely social. It teaches you to play together. It's great fun. Instrumental lessons are generally 'one-to-one'. We are already teaching 'chamber music' (a few people playing together). And this year we are starting a great project of orchestral classes.
For a long time now, we have wanted to start this project. And tomorrow (19 September, Friday) we will finally have the first rehearsal.

Including 4 orchestra groups:
String Instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass)
Woodwind Instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon)
Brass Instruments (French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba)
Percussion Instruments (drums and piano. Yes, the piano is a string percussion instrument due to the nature of the sound production. Although when played by masters, it can sound as smooth and soulful as a violin and cello, or as sparkling bright as a flute, or even as a full symphony orchestra).
KMA Orchestra will be open not only for our students, but for everyone who wants to join.
Our mission is to teach how to play in a professional orchestra and to grow together to reach a high level of performance.
Hopefully, in the future, we will meet in a concert venue to show our hard work and progress!
HAPPY NEW MUSIC YEAR! GOOD LUCK!
Enough words.
Let us play: A. Marquez - Danzon No.2
Performed by Sinfónica Simón Bolívar, which started as a National Youth Symphony Orchestra program and has since then paved the road for a lot of talented musicians
